Band is tight and on a par with Tower of Power, only Cold Blood was more consistent since Lydia was the center and soul of the band unlike the many singers Tower of Power went through over the 5/5(7).

"Cold Blood" released in and Sisyphus in , blended the elements of rock, soul, and gospel into a fiery sound that sounds as good today--as I'm sure it did back then. The San Franscico Bay area group was fronted by singing dynamo Lydia Pense, who sounds a lot like Janis Joplin, and the icy hot blend of vocals and music makes me want to /5(47).
  7. Kigabar says:
The second half of Sisyphus consists of up-tempo groovers "Too Many People," "Understanding," and "I Can't Stay," which is not only the hardest-rocking track on the disc, it also features a lead vocal from percussionist McKee. The song actually comes off sounding like an early Santana cut rather than anything else on the album.
  8. Nacage says:
A straight, no-frills-or-bonus-tracks reissue of Cold Blood's first two albums from 19on one CD, these 13 tracks make a case for the band as one of the better "lost" groups of the late-'60s San Francisco scene. Gutsy-voiced singer Lydia Pense had her Janis Joplin schtick down-pat, and even though the group was fraught with the usual revolving door personnel that a nine-piece is.
  9. Kagazilkree says:
Cold Blood - Cold Blood / Sisyphus ( us, exceptional funk soul rhythm and blues brass rock) In the heady days of the '60s pop music explosion in the San Francisco Bay area numerous bands formed, played a few dates and then their members dispersed to more successful groups.
