   On The Beach has been an underrated masterpiece by Neil Young since the day it was released! At the time, Neil's need to follow his heart, and continue to evolve as an artist, hadn't yet been recognized, and this record simply caught most people by surprise!/5().

   Following the Time Fades Away tour, Neil Young wrote and recorded an Irish wake of a record called Tonight's the Night and went on the road drunkenly playing its songs to uncomprehending listeners and hostile reviewers.    May 23,  · referencing On The Beach, LP, Album, RE, RM, , Brilliant record (the B-side might be the best side Neil Young released during his carreer), but I'm not wild about the sound of the remaster/5(K).

   In a curious twist of coincidence, I'm writing this anniversary piece not long after the release of a long-awaited live album culled from Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's legendary tour, which took place not long after On The Beach was released. Together, they encapsulate the creative and personal whirlwind that was Neil Young's life as the seventies reached their midway point.
